Who is NICJN for?

NICJN is for anyone with a shared interest in improving how the criminal justice system works for neurodivergent people.

Whether you're:

  • A practitioner working with or supporting neurodivergent individuals

  • A researcher creating new knowledge about criminal justice and neurodivergence

  • A policy maker shaping decisions that affect neurodivergent communities

  • A legal professional looking to better serve your neurodivergent clients

  • Someone with lived experience of navigating the criminal justice system

  • Or simply curious and committed to fairness —

The NICJN exists to help you find trusted knowledge, connect with others, and contribute to change.

Finding reliable information about neurodivergence in the criminal justice system is time-consuming, fragmented, and often inaccessible. We believe that better, more accessible knowledge is key to improving justice for neurodivergent people.

  • How do I join the network?
It’s easy - just click on of the ‘join the network’ or 'join' buttons, click the Subscribe link and fill in the details to join!
  • Can I add my work to the resource library?
Of course ! Visit the ‘share’ page and tell us about the resource you think should be added.
  • Can the network provide advice or support for me?
Unfortunately no. As a research and knowledge exchange network, we can’t offer direct advice or support on legal or other matters.
  • Is there a fee to join or use the resource library?
No - both joining and using the resource library are open to all. The library focuses on listing open access resources that are free to all; however, some resources will not be. See the website Terms & Conditions for more information.
  • Did the network publish/write the resources in the library?
No - but many of our members have! The resources listed in the library were produced and published by external organisations and individuals. The network does not own these resources; the library gathers together information on them and provides links to them.
